Steply ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we process and why. In short: we don't sell your data, we don't track you across other apps or websites, and we don't permanently store the math problems you submit.
To produce step-by-step solutions, the text or image of your problem is sent to Google's Gemini API for processing. This data is used only to return your solution and is not used to identify you. Google processes it under its own terms; see Google's privacy documentation for details. Answers are independently verified before they are shown.
Premium subscriptions are processed by Apple through your App Store account. We never receive your payment card details. Apple handles billing, renewals, and refunds under its terms.
Steply is a learning aid suitable for students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app works without an account and does not request personal details.
Submitted problems are discarded immediately after a solution is generated. On-device content remains on your device until you delete it (or uninstall the app).
You can clear your history in the app at any time, and uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
