Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how the ReplyCheck: Message Writer iOS application ("ReplyCheck", "the app", "we", "us") handles your information. We built ReplyCheck to be useful without collecting personal data we don't need.
1. Who we are
ReplyCheck is an independent iOS app published on the Apple App Store. For any privacy-related questions, contact us at replycheckapp@gmail.com.
2. Information we do not collect
- We do not require an account, login, sign-up, or email.
- We do not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or trackers.
- We do not collect your name, phone number, contacts, location, or device identifiers.
- We do not store any of your messages, screenshots, or rewrite history on our servers — there are no servers operated by us.
3. Information processed locally on your device
The following data is stored only on your iPhone, in app-private storage. It never leaves your device through ReplyCheck:
- Your rewrite history (messages you rewrote and the suggestions returned).
- Replies you choose to save.
- Preferences such as your default tone, tone strength, and onboarding status.
- Your daily free-rewrite count and date.
- A cached flag indicating whether your subscription is active.
You can delete this data at any time via Settings → Delete all data, or by uninstalling the app.
4. Information shared with third parties
Google Gemini API
To generate rewrite suggestions, the text you submit (the message you ask ReplyCheck to rewrite and any optional situation context you type) is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection to Google's Generative Language API ("Gemini"). Google's handling of that data is governed by Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
We do not send any personally identifying metadata along with these requests. We do not send your device ID, IP-linked identifiers, contacts, location, or any data beyond the text you choose to rewrite.
Screenshot reply feature
When you use the Screenshot reply feature, the screenshot itself is processed on your device by Apple's Vision framework to extract visible text. The image is never uploaded to us or any third party. Only the extracted text — the message you want to reply to — is then sent to Google Gemini, the same way a typed message would be.
Apple StoreKit and App Store
Subscription purchases are handled by Apple StoreKit. We never see your payment information. Apple shares with us only the anonymous transaction signature needed to verify whether your subscription is active. Refer to Apple's privacy policy at apple.com/legal/privacy.
5. What you should not submit
Because rewrite text is sent to Google Gemini for processing, do not paste highly sensitive content into ReplyCheck — for example government identification numbers, payment card data, medical records, passwords, or other secrets. ReplyCheck is intended for everyday communication text.
6. Children
ReplyCheck is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. The app is rated 4+ on the App Store because it does not present age-restricted content, but parents and guardians should supervise their child's use of any AI-based writing tool.
7. Security
All network requests use HTTPS (TLS). On-device data is stored using standard iOS application sandbox protections. We cannot access data on your device.
8. Your rights
- Delete: use Settings → Delete all data, or uninstall the app, to remove every piece of data ReplyCheck has stored about you on your device.
- Export: use Settings → Export my data to download a JSON file containing your rewrite history, saved replies, and preferences.
- Cancel subscription: manage or cancel through Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, in accordance with App Store terms.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top will reflect when the latest version took effect. Material changes will also be reflected in the app where appropriate.
10. Contact
For any privacy questions or requests, email replycheckapp@gmail.com.
